12:46 pm - GAH FREAKY do not want!
|
Mama still wants me to get laser eye surgery, because wearing glasses makes me look old and thus NOBODY WILL EVER MARRY ME!
.... Okay, so that's not what she said, but she said it makes me look old, so I translated that as undesirable.
I love my glasses, kthx.
They're a brand of attractive all of their own!
Also. What the heck, surgery. Absolutely no induced-sleep, and the drugs only are muhadi-a (relaxers, literally) in other words, I'm expecting freaky stuff like laughing gas that does nothing but make you nutty while the pitiful amount of anesthesia they give you wears off.
Also, daqhd baseet 'ala al-'ain. A slight pressure on the eye. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I wasn't born yesterday! I'm not going to believe that! That's just an attractive way of saying IT'S GOING TO HURT DEAR GOD IT'LL FEEL LIKE THEY'RE SQUISHING MY EYES.
And those freaky if it goes wrong things.
I could need a /corneal transplant?!/ How freaky is that, come on.
-reverting to cowardice-
NO FREAKIN' WAY. No. WAY.
And then I'll need glasses once I'm fourty anyway. And I might still need glasses after the operation to read. Light sensitivity. I can't wash my eyes with soap and water (... who the freakin' heck puts soap in their eyes, seriously? The heck?), I have to pray while sitting like old people (they actually listed that for the after operation list), I can not rub or scratch at my eyes for about ten days, I can't practise physical excersize (THE HECK IS THIS), I'll need to use sunglasses to protect myself from the sun and my eyesight could fail when I try to read (what THE HECK IS THIS), ALL OF THIS just so I don't have to wear glasses.
Oh, and I have to be awake so I can stare directly into the laser.

5:44 pm - S-so creepy...!!

5:05 pm - I can't put this into words, but I'll try ... not my best, because I'm lazy
|
I remember opening my eyes after pulling off the blanket from my face (it felt like silk while I was sleeping, I even dreamt of it there, and it still felt like silk when I woke up) to see the sky outside the windows was still faintly blue, not orange, from the glow that shone through the gaps in the wood and thinking to myself that it'd be nice if I got up now, so I wouldn't have to pray Dhuhr and 'Asr almost all at once (I didn't need to pray Fajir because I slept after I prayed it, a little after dawn). Though I knew I wouldn't be able to leave the warmth of my bed anytime soon. Still, I rolled onto my side, and to my surprise, my sister had done the same (she normally never wakes early, if I woke up at eleven before noon, she would wake up at three after sunset). So we just lay there for a while, lazily looking at eachother, eyelids fluttering, and then she buried her face into Miss Ruuji (her doggy pillow), and I did the same with my blanket (Mister Teddy was somewhere behind me).
Bliss.
(And yes, when I woke up this time, the blue glow, so magical, had already disappeared, replaced by the angry reddish-orange of the setting sun, and I had to pray both after one another).
Still, that one moment? That was what made the vacation for me.

I couldn't help it.
It's been a while since school went out, but I just had to mention this little incident which happened in our last History class, the lessons about important women in Islam.
Teacher: "Now, while women did not help out on the battlefield..." Me: -raises hand- Teacher: "Yes, Lamees?" Me: "There was a woman who helped out on the battlefield. Khawla bint Al-Azwar. She was a knight and a poetess." Teacher: -looks horrified/shocked- "... Y-yes, well, as Lamees said, there was a woman who fought on the battlefield, but also..."
And then she went on with the rest of the lesson.
I suppose they expected us to forget Khawla bint Al-Azwar after we left elementary, huh?
(Heck, I'm pretty sure she was mentioned in yet another lesson even in junior high, considering she was also a nurse on the battlefield).
I remember clearly, when we read about her for the first time in class, being enthrawled at the idea of a woman leading an army of yet more women, reciting poetry to encourage them onwards. It was the simplistic illustration customary of Saudi schoolbooks and the title that caught my eye first. Women on horseback, charging onwards. It was a beautiful image to my eyes, long before I took to caring about my studies, back in the days when I spent much of my time in class asleep, I adored that lesson. I still remember it fondly.

7:46 pm - Greetings, f-list
|
I've got a question for all of you.
Does the way I type "sound" like I'm trying to look cute? Do you find it in anyway annoying or disgusting whenever I type things phonetically ("Nice ta meet'chya!") or pepper my comments with hearts?
I mean, I'm certainly not as bad as I was when I was eleven, but even though it's not all out "I ish hungry, fweehee, an' I'm queen of da potatoes! :3 Nya~~~~! ♥ ♥ ♥", I'm worried that I might still sound a bit, well, annoying.
If so, please speak up so that I may remedy this.
If not, then speak up to quell my fear.

Remember the Japanese version of A Date with Delcatty?, Kasumi's Earnest Struggle! She's Risking Her Life!? Where Kasumi got a mysterious message that sounded a lot like a death threat telling her that her life was on the line and signed only "Tsutomu"?
And then when she goes off waiting with Nanako by her side, they see a large bulky man walk by in a tight black shirt, looking very fierce... and then a small blushing brown-haired boy who was very very shy. ... Who had meant her love life was on the line.
Now, besides the ominous letter, there was another thing that could have tipped them off. The name Tsutomu.
As most anime fans know, there was a lot of fear of otaku in japan after the otaku murders. The man's name? Tsutomu Miyazaki, well-known for his targetting of little girls and sending letters to their families, detailing what he had done to them.
(Since the new version of Bulbagarden Blogs seems a heck of a lot better than the last one, I'll give it a try. Since I'm lazy, I'll copy and paste this with minor alterations for my first post.)

Hikari's drawings were so cute.
Oh, they brought back the announcer from the Tag Battle arc! And the Stylists made mentions of Satoshi winning the Tag Battle too.
I wonder when we'll find out what the deal with Kouhei was? He was so shady~
Ah, she's still thinking of Nozomi's advice, huh? Well, she's definitely keeping to it! ^^
Aww, Mimirol's accessories were adorable!
I liked the older judge. Never caught her name though.
Paris. Was. So. FUNNY.
She was such a Harley! She even did the bitting down "KU-YA-SHIIII!!" thing, though she bit on her glove. xD
It was a very cute episode. Paris' random French cracked me up for some reason. Tres bien!
Yosuga's Gym Leader, as expected, is nowehere to be found yet again! Paris said Melissa's been away for a while. Think we'll see her sometime during Hikari's Contest arc?
And Kojiro! Kojiro with the kabuki face paint (which reminded my sister of Kankuro xD) and the drama and getting along with Takeshi because they shared the "simple is best" thing. Too funny. xD

12:06 pm - Bad art
|
I must be masochistic if I'm actually looking at my old art and choosing what beastly horrors to to scan and display in my Livejournal for all to see.
Ugh.
Well, shall we begin? You all may mock. In fact, be my guests! This would be boring and a waste of my time if nobody even says one thing about them or maybe they're just too horrified to say anything. They are quite scary.
Here we go! From the freakish, to the not-so-bad, to the- oh, there's no real order. Just suffer enjoy. ( Meowth with a nose and people without )
I'll post if I find anymore while I'm clearing out my closet.
